Aesthetic Exfoliation System
What is Aesthetic Exfoliation?
Years of sun exposure and the aging process take their toll on the skin,
creating lines, wrinkles, and
changes in texture and color. Not only is the face a likely victim of these
changes, but the neck, chest,
cleavage, arms and hands may be affected as well. MicroExfoliation can reduce
the effects of aging on
our skin.
MicroExfoliation is a treatment that improves wrinkles, skin texture and
color by removing the topmost
layer of skin leaving it more supple and vibrant. MicroExfoliation also
stimulates the elastic tissue
beneath the surface of the skin resulting in a healthier and firmer appearance.
MicroExfoliation
treatments are administered by trained aestheticians.
A wonderful alternative to chemical peels, the NewApeel™ MicroExfoliation
treatment is non-invasive,
pain-free and requires no down time after treatment. Leading plastic surgeons
and dermatologist
regard the NewApeel™ system as being more gentle and affective than other
exfoliating systems,
even at higher settings. The length of the treatment and number of treatments
vary depending on
skin type and condition. Results are gradual but highly effective. Most people
experience softer,
smoother skin after their first treatment.
History of Aesthetic Exfoliation?
The ancient Egyptians are said to be the first to use dermabrasion skin care
techniques to improve
their skin. Kings and queens used alabaster and pumice to remove blemishes and
rough spots and
make their skin smooth and soft.
In the mid-90's a skin care technique using aluminum oxide powder for
microdermabrasion was
developed in Italy. The process uses vacuum and a small orifice to accelerate
the powder. Aluminum
oxide abrades the skin and the vacuum cleans out blocked pores.
The technique proved effective, however, it has some disadvantages:
- Aluminum oxide is left imbedded in the skin and floating around in the
air.
- There is a significant volume of material to dispose of after each procedure.
- The crystals are left in the hair and clothes of both the patient and
clinician.
- The clinician must wear a particle mask and client must wear eye protection
and remove
contacts.
- The cost per treatment of crystal-based systems is normally $5 - $12 per
treatment.
The NewApeel™ Aesthetic Exfoliation system with DiamondTome™ Wands is
an evolution in microdermabrasion.
NewApeel™ offers a twenty-first century skin care technology for applying the
millennia old technique
of dermabrasion. By eliminating the powders and crystals (aluminum oxide and
salt) NewApeel™ has
made skin rejuvenation the clean, controlled procedure it should be.
Treatment Overview
Using the DiamondTome™ Wands
The grit size and the vacuum pressure selected determine the degree of
abrasion. The vacuum
pressure controls the pressure of the skin against the diamond chips. To achieve
rejuvenation of
thin skin you would select the 75-micron wand and a low pressure (i.e. 800
mbar). To increase
the exfoliation, you simply increase the pressure in small increments. For more
aggressive
treatment the medium (100-micron) wand would be used. You begin with low
pressure and
slowly increase the pressure until the desired results are achieved.
MicroExfoliation Treatments
MicroExfoliation treatments can be administered by trained aestheticians.
Length of treatment
and number of treatments is dependent on skin type and condition. The skin is
polished and not
broken which can lead to bleeding. This non-invasive skin care treatment can be
completed in a
short period of time and without pain. This skin care treatment is ideal for
people on the go.
There is no "downtime" from work or social activities. The results are gradual
but highly effective
for clearer, healthier looking skin.
